There’s an opportunity to help children get ready for kindergarten.

Registration is open for Jay County Public Library’s Kindergarten Prep School (KiPS).

The program will run on Tuesdays from June 11 through July 30. Applications are available at the library.

Grants available

The Portland Foundation is accepting applications for its summer grants.

Applications that are open include standard grants as well as Teacher Creativity Mini Grants. The foundation is also accepting applications for scholarships for current college students.

The deadline for all grant applications is 5 p.m. June 1.

Meeting set

South Adams Trails will hold its annual meeting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Limberlost State Historic Site, 200 E. 6th St., Geneva.

Brian Wright, bridge project manager for engineering firm Butler, Fairman and Seufert, will be the keynote speaker. He will be presenting design plans and discussing his role in South Adams Trails projects.
