Museum talk set for tonight

Art lovers will have the opportunity to learn more about an area gallery.

Shaun Dingwerth will give a presentation about the Richmond Museum of Art at 6:30 p.m. Thursday as part of John Jay Center for Learning’s spring speaker series.

Dingwerth is the museum’s executive director as well as the author of “The Richmond Group Artists.” He will discuss the museum’s permanent collection as well as its annual programs and exhibits.

The spring series also features a four-part seminar from Mike Medler about the use of forensic science in criminal investigation. The former director of the Indianapolis-Marion County Forensic Service Agency will speak about fingerprints on May 21 and hair/fiber analysis on June 18.

Other events in the spring speaker series include:

•“Sustainability. What is it?” with Ball State University professor of architecture Robert Koester on May 30.

All sessions are free and begin at 6:30 p.m.

Earned degree

Catherine Dunn, Portland, graduated May 4 from Brescia University in Owensboro, Kentucky.

The 2015 Jay County High School graduate earned a bachelor’s degree in communication sciences and disorders.

Portland High School’s class of 1944 is seeking to locate a couple of class members ahead of its upcoming reunion.

Indiana Mission of Mercy will offer free dental services from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday at Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, 4000 Parnell Ave., Fort Wayne.  

All patients will receive a basic dental screening, including an X-ray. Dentists will provide tooth cleaning, fillings and extractions. All services are free.
