Annual meeting is set for June 10

Some theatrical fun is planned for the second Monday in June.

Jay County Civic Theatre will hold its annual meeting at 6 p.m. June 10 at West Walnut Street Church of Christ in Portland.

The meeting will include the election of two board members, voting on bylaw changes and appointment of the show selection committee. All Jay County Civic Theatre members — anyone who has contributed their time or funds to a show in the last three years — are eligible to vote.

Following the brief meeting, there will be a carry-in meal. That will be followed by karaoke, improv and games.

Graduated

Christa Wall of Portland graduated May 18 from Wilkes University in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. She earned a doctorate of nursing practice.

Registration open

Cornerstone Center for the Arts is accepting registrations for its summer courses that begin June 10.

Classes available include offerings in dance, acting, Zumba, drawing, ceramics, painting and sculpture for children, teens and adults. The facility also offers private music lessons as well as mini camps and a series of one-time workshops.

Conference set

LifeStream Services will hold its annual Aging Well Conference from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 6 at Horizon Convention Center in Muncie.

The conference will feature Loretta Swit as its keynote speaker. She is best known for playing Maj. Margaret Houlihan on “M*A*S*H.”

The event will also include a resource fair and breakout sessions of older adults, veterans, caregivers and healthcare professionals.

Offering program

Swiss Village will offer its Summer Junior Volunteer Program this year.

The program places students ages 10 and older in volunteer positions at Swiss Village, Kinder Haus or Muselman Wellness Pavilion. It runs May 28 through Aug. 9.
