Linda Roberts

Linda (Fultz) Roberts, 76, Topeka, Kansas, died peacefully April 29 at Topeka Rehabilitation Center.

She was born Sept. 9, 1942, in Portland, the daughter of George and Ella Maude (May) Fultz.

Linda graduated in 1960 from Gov. I.P. Gray and obtained her teaching degree from Ball State Teacher’s College in 1964. She met her husband, Don Roberts, while teaching at Thomas Jefferson Elementary School in Marion, Indiana, and they were married April 10, 1965.

As her husband was called to pastoral ministries, Linda supported him while preaching at Church of the Brethren in Portland and Hagerstown. Their ministry took them to Lanark, Illinois, and then Topeka, retiring from the Rochester congregation in 1999.

Linda loved taking trips to Kentucky to visit family when she was young and spending time with cousins. She enjoyed meeting new people and making friends, and she will be sorely missed by all that knew her.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Don Roberts; and their daughter Jacquelyn Roberts.

She is survived by her son Jeff Roberts of Topeka; a brother, Roger Fultz, Portland; brothers-in-law Frank Roberts, Phoenix, Arizona, and Richard Roberts, Indianapolis; and several nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service was held May 11 at Southern Hill Mennonite Church in Topeka.

A private graveside service and burial will be held at a later date at Gardens of Memory in Marion.
