A day after playing to a tie, Loy’s Realty got back in the win column.
Loy’s picked up a 12-4 victory against Local 1620 on Thursday in the Sandy Koufax division of the Portland Junior League.
Qadan Ferrell led Loy’s by going 3-for-3 with a pair of RBIs, and Bryce Wenk knocked in five runs on a triple and a single. Tarron Bentz and Cam Hoover contributed two hits each, while Isaac Scott, Jeremiah Canterbury, Jaylen McClain and Keegan Cavanaugh all singled.
Connor Specht doubled and drove in two RBIs in the setback for Local 1620. Hunter Young finished with a double and an RBI.
Loy’s Realty and Dunkirk played to a 5-5 tie on Wednesday.
Hoover went 2-for-2 with a walk. Gavin McCrossen, Lucas Strait, Bentz and Wenk all singled.
Jarron Alexander paced the offense for Dunkirk with two hits and a walk, and Correy Lenington fished with a pair of hits as well. Peyton Lykins, Nick Street and Trenton Alexander chipped in hits as well.
Byrum paces Flamespray
Mitchell Byrum knocked four hits in leading Flamespray Machine Service to a 9-4 win against Pak-A-Sak on Wednesday in Rookie baseball action.
Roman Clamme doubled and singled twice in support of Byrum, as Grant Fennig, Benton Langenkamp and Easton Johnson all went 2-for-3.
Eli Homan, Tyce Foreman and Cooper Reynolds finished the day 2-for-3 in the Pak-A-Sak loss. Henry Teeter and Chandler Young had one hit apiece.
Berne beats Crossroads
In Minor softball action Wednesday night, First Bank of Berne beat Crossroads Financial Federal Credit Union 14-3.
Hannah Hayes, Raylin Hummer and Rose Carter all singled in the win for Berne. In the pitcher’s circle, Carley Trinidad finished with six strikeouts.
Jordan Hutzler collected two singles for Crossroads, and Chloe Oliver had a single as well.
