Used toy drive is Dec. 7
Taking Note
The Artifices Luminis Chapter of the Low Twelve Riders will be sponsoring a used toy drive from 8 a.m. to noon on Dec. 7 at Jay F. & A.M. Lodge 87 in Portland.
Clean usable toys will be collected and given to the Salvation Army for distribution.
On Sale
Tickets go on sale Friday, Nov. 22, for a 2020 performance by BlackHawk and Sawyer Brown at the Mercer County Fairgrounds in Celina, Ohio.
The concert is set for Friday, Aug. 14.

Blood drive
A special community blood drive in honor of John Paul Morris and in memory of Wiley Freel will be conducted by the American Red Cross from 1 to 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22, at Sonoco Protective Solutions, U.S. 27 North, Portland.
Organizers said John Paul Morris is a 5-year-old kindergarten student who loves playing soccer, baseball and basketball. In February 2019 he was diagnosed with B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, a form of cancer.
He has received frequent blood transfusions and may need more as treatment continues.
Wiley Freel was born in December 2013 with a congenital heart defect.
He received many transfusions before he passed away from complications in January of 2014.
