Orvin Whitenack

Orvin J. “OJ” Whitenack, age 101, a former rural Portland resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, Nov. 20, 2019, in Randolph Nursing Home in Winchester.
He was born in Jay County on May 26, 1918, the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Whitenack. He was married Feb. 15, 1947, to Frances Carter, and she passed away on Dec. 18, 2005. OJ was a longtime Jay County farmer.
Surviving are two sons, Gary Whitenack of Portland and Phil Whitenack (wife: Arlou) of Ridgeville; three granddaughters, Mandy, Kristen and Kelli; and two great-grandchildren, Andrew and Ella.
Private funeral services will be held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with burial in the Green Park Cemetery. Memorials can be made to the choice of the donor.
