Betty Armstrong

Betty Armstrong, age 92, a resident of Portland, passed away Monday, Sept. 30, 2019, at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre. She was a homemaker, and a member of the Portland Church of God of Prophecy and the Portland American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years.
Betty Armstrong was born June 12, 1927, in Muncie, Indiana, the daughter of James and Margaret (Geyer) Lipscomb. She was married to Dillard Armstrong in 1946 and he passed away in 1990.
Survivors include:
Three daughters — Sharon Schmit, Portland, Indiana, Carol McIlwain (husband: Brad), Ridgeland, South Carolina, and Sheila Coon, Geneva, Indiana
One son — Curt Armstrong (wife: Yuchun), Glendale, Arizona,
One sister — Mildred Lipscomb, Portland, Indiana
Seven grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren
Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Celebration of life services will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Pastor Nan Weesner will officiate the services, and burial will follow in the Daugherty Cemetery on the Jay-Adams County line.
Memorials may be directed towards Portland Church of God Prophecy or Jay County Cancer Society.
