Wellness program begins Wednesday

A wellness program for older adults will begin Wednesday.

LifeStream Services, in partnership with Delaware County Prevention Council and Purdue Extension, will offer Wellness Initiative for Senior Education at noon Wednesday at Jay Community Center.

Patricipants will learn about the aging process, making healthy lifestyle choices and a variety of other topics. Refreshments will be provided.

The free program will run for six weeks. To register, call (765) 282-7988.



Concerts set

Ball State University’s School of Music has a series of events scheduled for this week, including a recital by trombonist Mark Hetzler, tuba player Tom Curry and percussionist Tony DiSanza at 7:10 p.m. Thursday at Sursa Hall.

The Statesman will perform at 4 p.m. Saturday at Sursa Hall, and Muncie Symphony Orchestra will take the Emens Auditorium state at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Internships available

The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is offering paid internships for the spring semester.

Candidates must be a college sophomore or older. Internships are full-time positions with a biweekly stipend of $750.

Events set

Jay County Public Library will show the movie “Toy Story 4” at 3:30 p.m. Friday. Popcorn will be provided. Children 7 and younger must be accompanied by an adult.

Other activities this month include a LEGO brick challenge from 3 to 7 p.m. Thursday.
