Rockets run over the Tribe

FORT?RECOVERY?— The Indians and Rockets traded touchdowns early in the first quarter.

The visitors weren’t so willing to barter after that.

Anna scored four touchdowns in a row spanning the first and second quarters as it handed the Fort Recovery High School football team a 53-19 defeat Friday.

The Rockets (6-1, 4-1 Midwest Athletic Conference) were dominant on the ground as they racked up 346 rushing yards, including the four touchdowns in a row. Riley Huelskamp scored twice within the span of less than three minutes on runs of 62 and 21 yards in the first quarter and Bart Bixler had TD runs of 1 and 31 yards in the second.

Huelskamp added two more scoring runs in the second half as he gained 279 yards on 21 carries.

Gavin Thobe recorded two of the three touchdowns for Fort Recovery (2-5, 1-4 MAC), including a 90-yard scoring reception from Clay Schmitz in the second quarter. He added a 79-yard touchdown run in the third period as he totaled 211 yards from scrimmage.

Thobe also made six tackles to pace the defense.

Derek Jutte tallied the other Tribe TD — his 9-yard run in the first quarter made it 7-7 — and finished with 25 yards on 14 rushing attempts.

Schmitz completed 9 of his 20 pass attempts for 193 yards.
