Talma “Sue” Wilhelm, age 72, a resident of Portland, passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2019, at IU Health Jay Hospital. She was a homemaker and was a babysitter for many years from her home in Portland.
Talma “Sue” Wilhelm was born Aug. 29, 1947, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Keith and Dorothy (Smith) Hartley. She was married on Sept. 11, 1965, to Glen Wilhelm Jr., and he passed away on March 23, 2013.
Survivors include:
Four sons — Glen D. Wilhelm (wife: Trudy), Portland, Perry A. Wilhelm (wife: Betty), Portland, Danny P. Wilhelm (wife: Hollie), Portland, and Patrick R. Wilhelm (wife: Kathy), Decatur
Two daughters — Holly D. Miller (companion: Mike), rural Montpelier, and Crystal L. Schuler, Portland
Daughter-in-law — Tammy Wilhelm, Portland
One brother — Richard Hower, Huntington, Indiana
Twenty-five grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Terry A. Wilhelm on Dec. 11, 2017.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 6 p.m. on Thursday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday at the funeral home with visitation one hour prior to the services. Pastor Phill Jellison will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
