Meeting to address underage drinking

Local organizations are taking on the topic of underage drinking.

Jay County?Drug Prevention Coalition and Purdue Extension will host a town hall meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 21 in the 4-H Exhibit Hall at Jay County Fairgrounds to discuss underage drinking.

Parents are invited to attend to offer their insight on the topic. Dinner will be provided.

Seeking donations

LifeStream is accepting donations for its AngelWish program, which provides gift bags to older adults in its service area, including Jay County.

Those interested in contributing can donate money or canned soup, or become a sponsor. Volunteers can also sign up to deliver gifts between Dec. 7 and 24.

Cornerstone hosting

Cornerstone Center for the Arts in Muncie will host its Community Halloween Party from 4 to  6 p.m. Oct. 24.

The free event will include games, refreshments and prizes. A portion of the Scarevania haunted house will be available at a cost of $2. Costumes are encouraged.
