Times change, tactics stay the same

To the editor:

In 2015/2016, GOP presidential nominee Donald Trump started a mantra. In fact, two mantras.

The first was “lock her up.” This was directed at Hilary Clinton, his soon-to-be foe in the election. Little did it matter that she had been absolved of any wrong, the mantra stuck.

The second was “Make America Great Again.”

When was it not?

Now, after two-plus years of chaos in the White House, King Donald is at it again. Only the mantras are changed. Now it’s “Keep America Great” and “Corrupt Joe Biden.”

Sound familiar?

It certainly does. It’s the same tactics he’ll be using in 2020 that worked so well in 2016.

I find it ironic that Donald J. Trump, leader of the most corrupt administration in U.S. history, had the guts to call Joe Biden corrupt.

I also find it extremely difficult to believe the American public is so gullible it would fall for Trump’s trickery a second time. Even once was too many. Ridiculous.

Riddle me this: If Trump and his henchmen are so guilt-free, why in the name of Jack Caster’s cat are they stonewalling on everything?

His second mantra is “Keep America Great.”

If America was ever not great, the downward spiral started on Nov. 8, 2016. For the second time, a date that will live in infamy.
