Harold Willmann

Harold L. Willmann, age 94, of Fort Recovery, Ohio, died October 25, 2019 at The Gardens at St. Henry,St. Henry, Ohio.
He was born July 24, 1925, in Fort Recovery, to the late Edward and Elva (Jones) Willmann. On Nov. 28, 1953, he married Ruth (Moorman) Willmann, who survives. They celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this past year.
Also surviving are his children, Dr. Ted (Ann) Willmann of St. Henry, Lucy (Skip) Wilson of Tipp City, Ohio, Richard "Butch" (Jane) Willmann of Fort Recovery, and Ginny (Dave) Robbins of Coldwater; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren; a son-in-law, Greg Robinson of Eaton, Ohio; and in-laws, Jean Moorman of Piketon, Ohio, Marie Moorman of Coldwater, Helen Umphrey of Dayton, Ohio, Henry Moorman of Chicago, IL, Becky Moorman of Ottoville, Ohio, Marge (Roger) Stachler of St. Henry, and Ed (Teresa) Moorman of St. Henry.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia Robinson; a son-in-law, Don Grant; a great granddaughter, Abigail; his siblings, Marvin (Clara) Willmann, Robert (Joyce) Willmann, Ruth (Cy) Huelsman, Harry Willmann, Cleo Willmann, June (Forest) Regedanz, and William (Betty) Willmann; and his in-laws, Gerald (Eloise) Moorman, Cletus Moorman, Tom Moorman, Frank Umphrey, and Robert Moorman.
Harold was employed at Peterson Construction, served as a Recovery Township Trustee and later retired from farming.
He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery and was active as a lay distributor and usher of the church. Harold was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 345 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, both of Fort Recovery.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Oct. 28, 2019 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Fr. Ned Brown as celebrant. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
Calling is 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and 9 to 10 a.m. Monday at Brockman-Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery. An American Legion prayer service will be held at 5:45 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Military graveside honors will be conducted by the American Legion.
