TIFFIN, Ohio — The Indians’ running season has come to a close.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls cross country team had its year end Saturday as it was 17th in the Division III Regional meet.
Minster, which is the defending state champion, had a pair in the top nine and all of its runners finish 20th or better in claiming the regional title with 62 points. Liberty Center, led by individual champion Hope Oelkrug, totaled 91 points for second place. Columbus Grove (194), Archbold (210) and Woodmore (212) rounded out the top five. New London was sixth with 213 points and Delphos St. John’s had 270 for seventh.
Fort Recovery had 375 points for 17th out of 22 scoring teams.
The top seven teams and individuals placing in the top 28 advance to the state final, which is set for 11 a.m. Saturday at National Trail Raceway in Hebron.
Fort Recovery freshman Megan Diller had a time of 21 minutes, 2.61 seconds, to place 59th as the top Tribe runner. Classmate Alexis Wendel was 100th overall in 21:42.82.
Also scoring for the Indians were Hannah Metzger (113th – 21:52.3), Kendra Metzger (118th – 22:02.48) and Alyssa Henrichs (120th – 22:05.59).
