Jay County Historical Society will hold its annual dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 12 at Asbury United Methodist Church. The cost of the meal is $10, and reservations are required by 4 p.m. Tuesday.
The program will be “Video Moments from Jay County’s Past” with Rob Weaver sharing a variety of segments he has recorded during his years reporting on events for WPGW Radio.
The dinner meeting will also include the election of five members of the board of directors. Board members whose terms are expiring are Jeff Bowen, Claudia Jones, Carter Leonard, Jodi McKee and Judy Zearbaugh.
Scholarship
The Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association is partnering with Ivy Tech Community College to offer volunteer first responders a chance to earn a two-year degree, tuition free.
Ivy Tech has committed $250,000 over two years to pay for tuition and fees for volunteer first responders to attend academic programs with the exception of Flight Aviation and General Studies.

Seeking donations
LifeStream is accepting donations for its AngelWish program, which provides gift bags to older adults in its service area, including Jay County.
Those interested in contributing can donate money or canned soup, or become a sponsor. Volunteers can also sign up to deliver gifts between Dec. 7 and 24.

Cornerstone Center for the Arts will host an opening reception for exhibit “Inamorata & the Floating City” by Sarah Richcreek from 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 7.
