Military show starts Friday

Tanks will be rolling through Portland.
The Indiana Military Vehicle Show and Swap Meet is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Jay County Fairgrounds.
Military vehicles will be on display at the fairgrounds each day. They will include a World War II half-track, a vehicle with wheels in the front and tracks in the rear.
Museum of the Soldier will also be open during the show.
A parade is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday, with vehicles leaving the fairgrounds and heading west on Votaw Street, south on Wayne Street, west on Main Street, north on Meridian Street and then east on Votaw Street back to the fairgrounds.

Learn Spanish
Registration is open for beginning conversational Spanish classes at John Jay Center for Learning.
The six-week course, which begins Sept. 17, will focus on basic grammar, common expressions and social introductions. The cost is $85.

Adams Memorial Hospital and Fort Wayne Dermatology will team to offer a free skin cancer screening clinic Oct. 3 at Adams Medical Group in Geneva. Those interested in scheduling a screening can call (260) 724-2145.
