A total of 59 pints of blood were collected at an American Red Cross blood drive recently at Jay Community Center.
Susan Myers reached a milestone as a 9-gallon donor.

Car show set
Arthur & Gloria Muselman Wellness Pavilion in Berne will host a Classic Car Show from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 23 as part of its Active Aging Week events.

Other events during Active Aging Week include a train depot tour Sept. 24, water aerobics classes, yoga classes and a tour of the National Model Aviation Museum on Sept. 26.

Adams Memorial Hospital and Fort Wayne Dermatology will team to offer a free skin cancer screening clinic Oct. 3 at Adams Medical Group in Geneva. Those interested in scheduling a screening can call (260) 724-2145.

Arts Place is offering a youth choir — Stateline Singers — with the first meeting slated for Sept. 24.
The choir, to be directed by Jan Rittenhouse, is for students ages 8 to 14. The group will practice from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesdays at Arts Place in Portland.
The registration fee for the 12-week ensemble is $25. The deadline is Thursday, and registration forms are available at artsland.org.
