Reading might be eye-opening
Letters to the Editor
To the editor:
In response to your editorial from Sept. 14, I humbly submit the following response.
Editor Ray Cooney asked for responses from local farmers who supported the current administration to see if they continue their support in light of numerous trade and tariff issues that are certainly detrimental to agriculture producers.
To clarify, I personally did not support this administration for personal reasons that date back to non payment of work invoices submitted to Trump-owned corporations back in the late 1980s when I lived and worked in southeastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey.
My reasons were not due to "fake news" or media tales, but due to my own personal, first-hand experience.
This does not mean I supported his opponent either, simply because I saw them both as equally lousy candidates for totally different reasons.
This administration has certainly enacted trade policies that have serious consequences to a lot of agri-economics in the Midwest and beyond.
I'm not a bit surprised that the request for replies to editor Cooney's editorial has not been answered. This administration is so akin to an 1837 Hans Christian Andersen story that the parallels are uncanny.
Unfortunately, we have no little, innocent child who will loudly exclaim, "But The Emperor has no clothes!”
Before you reject this take on the current state of affairs, take a minute and refresh your memory by reading “The Emperor's New Clothes.” It may be eye-opening to you.
Respectfully,
James D. Fulks III
