Obituary
Chester A. Cheeseman, age 84, of rural Portland passed away Friday evening April 3, 2020, at his residence.
He was born in Albany, Indiana, on Sept. 11, 1935, the son of Arthur and Eunice May (Hollingsworth) Cheeseman.
He was married on March 23, 1979, to Hilda Smith who survives. He was an integral part of Cheeseman's in Portland for many years and was a Portland High School graduate.
Surviving are his wife Hilda; two sons, Arthur Cheeseman (wife: Angi) of Indianapolis and Chester Cheeseman III of Indianapolis; one brother, Phil Cheeseman (wife: Lynn) of Lafayette; three sisters, Gloria Green of Portland, Sarah Cline (husband: John) of Greenfield and Dixie Batt (husband: Tom) of Farmland; two grandsons, Joel and Clint; and five great-grandchildren.
Private funeral services will be held in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Mike Harris presiding. Burial will be in the Claycomb Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to State of the Heart Hospice or Home Health Angels in Winchester.
