To the editor: I’m sure I can speak for many of us when I give special thanks to:
•All the doctors, nurses, specialized technicians and office staff who show up to work every day at IU Health Jay and their offices to protect and care for us.
•The police and fire departments that are there for us no matter what.
•Rob Weaver and his crew at PG-14 who show up to work every day to keep us informed via the airways.
•Ray Cooney and Jack Ronald and their staff at The Commercial Review keeping us informed in print Monday through Saturday. I do believe my ongoing subscription dates back to 1977 with no interruption.
•All of the owners and employees of the local eateries who have stayed open to give us the choice of picking up and eating something not prepped in our kitchens.
•Bruce Sutton and staff for making our courthouse safe for the necessary visitors.
•All the owners and staff of necessary businesses that are keeping their doors open for us to survive this pandemic.
•All of the Walmart and Dollar General employees who are putting their health and those of their families at risk every day by being open for us.
And lastly, to all of you out there that are staying home to keep us all safe. Although I’d love to go out and eat, join my friends for coffee and meet during our monthly Portland High School Class of 1966 classmate luncheons, I know there will be time for that when this is over.
God is Good. All the time. He is watching over us.
