Joe and Carol Johnston, 125 Rose Drive, Portland, are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary today.
Carol A. Wilson and Joe Johnston were wed on April 11, 1970 at the United Methodist Church in Kentland, Indiana.
They are the parents of Julie Johnston, Dublin, Ohio, and Stefanie Lorenz, Columbus, Ohio, and have five grandsons.
Joe is retired from Jay County Hospital where he was administrator. Carol is a retired registered nurse and has been a woodworker for 25 years.
The couple was given a surprise party by their daughters in February in Sanibel, Florida.
