Obituary
Barbara Ashcraft, age 68, a resident of Portland passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2020, at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
Barbara was born March 5, 1952, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Jesse and Mary (Gamsby) Ashcraft. Barbara graduated from Portland High School in 1970. She was a ward clerk at San Angelo Hospital in San Angelo, Texas, and worked at CTS in Berne, Indiana, for 22 years.
Barbara was a member of the Southside Church of Christ in Portland and helped with Bible school. She also loved playing cards with her family. She loved crafts, and always loved her animals and cruising the country side on the Kawasaki Mule.
Survivors include:
Her mother — Mary Ashcraft, Portland, Indiana
One sister — Carol Limbert (husband: Tony), Portland, Indiana
One sister-in-law — Lisa Tinch (husband: Randy), Portland, Indiana
One niece — Codi LeMaster
One nephew — Colt Ashcraft
Several aunts, uncles and cousins
She was preceded in death by her father, Jesse Ashcraft; and a brother, Michael Ashcraft.
Because of health precautions designated by the State of Indiana, a private graveside service will be held at I.O.O.F Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville, Indiana. Virtual visitation and a candlelight vigil will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Thursday on the Facebook page of Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Southside Church of Christ in Portland.
