Two juveniles were caught allegedly vandalizing Pennville Elementary School last week.
According to a report from Jay County Sheriff’s Office, $25,000 to $35,000 dollars worth of damage was caused at the former school after the vandals were able to enter the building through a window.
The school’s fire extinguishers were then discharged.
Windows, doors and electronics in the school were found to have been hit with axes and baseball bats. Also, chemicals and feces were found on the floor, according to the report.
The crime was reported by another minor, who said they saw two individuals run from the building and ride their bikes away from the school. The two juveniles have since been sent to Youth Opportunity Center in Muncie.
