Driving while suspended
A Portland man pleaded guilty to driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor.
Jerry L. Robbins, 41, 4850 S. 400 East, was sentenced to 90 days in Jay County Jail and given 36 days credit for 18 days served. He was also assessed court costs of $185.50.
Eric M. Lillard, 46, 4084 S. Willman Road, Hartford City, also pleaded guilty to driving while suspended, a Class A misdemeanor. He was sentenced to 30 days in Jay County Jail, given 12 days credit for six days served and assessed court costs of $185.50.
Invasion of privacy
A Portland woman was found guilty of two counts of invasion of privacy, a Class A misdemeanor, and had another count of the same charge dismissed.
Amber R. Newton, 32, 101 Moody Ave., received two consecutive sentences of 180 days in Jay County Jail with all but 60 days suspended for both terms. She was given 60 days credit for 30 days served on one of her sentences and received 52 days credit for 26 days served for the other.
She’ll serve a total of eight days in Jay County Jail and 240 days of probation. She was assessed court costs of $370.
Probation violation
Cari L. Chrisman, 35, whose last known address was in Winchester, was found to have violated her probation related to an original charge of theft, a Class A misdemeanor. She was ordered to serve an additional 94 days of her original sentence but given 94 days credit for 47 days served.
