Obituary
Cheryl L. (Strickler) Svec, age 74, passed away Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at her residence in Fort Wayne after a long battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born in Portland on June 14, 1946, the daughter of Robert and Betty (Fritzinger) Strickler. She was a 1964 Gray High School graduate and was a homemaker. She loved to study American Indians, wolves and horses. She enjoyed watching old black-and-white movies, gardening, hummingbirds, all kinds of music and her cats and dogs.
Surviving are her fiancé Neil Shanebeck of Fort Wayne; one son, Mike Green (wife: Tina); one daughter, Lisa Parkerson; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Aug. 13, 2020, at 1 p.m. in the Green Park Cemetery chapel with Pastor Chuck Koenemann presiding. Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. in the chapel. She will be laid to rest next to her parents Robert and Betty Strickler.
Memorials can be made to Visiting Nurse Hospice.
Baird-Freeman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
