Elsie Walker

Elsie Maude Walker, age 85, of Portland passed away Thursday, Aug. 6, 2020, at her residence.

She was born in Crossville, Tennessee, on Sept. 6, 1934, the daughter of Charlie and Eliza (Farr) Norris. She was married to William R. Walker and he passed away in 2018. She was a homemaker and attended the Fellowship Baptist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Garry Walker (wife: Jody) of Portland and Kevin Walker (wife: Brenda) of Portland; three daughters, Karen Jenkins (husband: Steve) of Portland, Betty Smith (husband: Steve) of Portland and Lori McCurdy (husband: Ed) of Portland; one brother, Tom Norris; four sisters, Lilly May Henry, Ida Smallwood, Hassie Oaks and Leona Taylor, all from Tennessee; 12 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2020, at 1 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Hugh Kelly presiding. Burial will follow in the IOOF Cemetery in Pennville. Visitation will be from noon till 1 p.m. prior to the services.
