CELINA, Ohio — Another 18-hole tournament, another top-three finish for one Tribe golfer.
Jalyn Bruns was just one of three players to shoot sub-80 rounds as she finished third overall in the Celina Bulldog Invitational on Friday at Celina Lynx Golf Club.
Wapakoneta took first out of 13 scoring teams with its 361 total. Wayne Trace was second with 39, and Versailles shot 376 for third.
Fort Recovery High School’s girls golf team shot 382, matching Coldwater, but placed fifth because of the fifth-golfer tiebreaker.
Bruns carded a 79 to lead the Indians. Shelby Stammen was second for the Tribe with 90, and Alli Vaughn shot 99 for the team’s third-best score. Macy Brunswick completed the team total by shooting 114.
The tiebreaker came down to the fifth-best score by each team. Laney Finke of Coldwater shot 108, while Fort Recovery’s Paige Bihn had 116.
St. Henry’s Ellen Naumann claimed the individual championship with her 1-over-par 73. Kenadie Daeger of Wayne Trace was the runner-up with 76. Wapakoneta teammates Taylor West (84) and Jackie Oen (85) rounded out the overall top five.
