Ralph B. Saunders Jr., 78, of Monroe passed away Friday, Aug. 14, 2020, at his residence.
He was born on March 28, 1942, in Portland, Indiana, to the late Ralph and Mable (Houtz) Saunders. On Dec. 29, 1962, he married Donna Lou Dawson.
Ralph retired in 2003 after 41 years of service at International Harvester.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Donna Lou Saunders of Monroe; four children, Dean (Norleka) Saunders of Ossian, Indiana, Jennifer (Bryan) Hess of Willshire, Ohio, Greg (Nancy) Saunders of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Chad (fiancé: Anna Wemhoff) Saunders of Monroe, Indiana; nine grandchildren, Clint, Taylor, Mason, Trevor, Maria, Dakota, Lexy, Scotlynn and Colin; and two great-grandchildren, Sebastian and Paiselea.
Ralph was preceded in death by five sisters.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, Aug. 18, 2020, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Haggard Sefton Hirschy and Zelt Funeral Home, and one hour prior to the service on Wednesday. Services will be on Wednesday, Aug. 19, 2020, at 11 a.m., also at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Ray Cemetery in Monroe, Indiana, with Chaplain Michael Sprunger officiating.
Memorials may be given through the funeral home to Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
