Vernon L. Adair, age 80, of rural Portland passed away Thursday, Dec. 3, 2020, at his residence.
He was born in Portland on Jan. 18, 1940, the son of Marvin and Ethel (Lawson) Adair. He was a farmer and had worked at Indiana Glass. He was a volunteer firefighter in Dunkirk and was a member of Tri-State Gas Engine and Tractor Association and Bryant Coon Hunters.
Surviving are one daughter, Diana Bear (husband: Josh) of Dunkirk; one brother, Donald Adair of Portland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandsons.
Memorial services will be Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastor Alan Adair presiding. Burial will be in the Stephens Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services.
Memorials can be made to Mount Zion Methodist Church.
