Richard LaVaughn Louck, 51, of Portland, Indiana, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, Dec. 5, 2020, at his residence.
Richard was born in Portland, Indiana, on June 16, 1969, a son of Carol Frances (McFarland) and Larry Richard Louck. He was a 1987 graduate of Jay County High School and went on to receive his Diesel Mechanic’s Certification in Indianapolis, Indiana.
Rich worked in construction for most of his adult life and loved tools, getting his hands dirty and tinkering outside on anything with an engine. He was known for his fun and carefree spirit, ornery and silly sense of humor and how he teased and played with his nieces and nephews. Rich enjoyed playing cards, listening to country music, watching sports, The Indianapolis Colts and going to tractor pulls.
He is survived by his parents Larry and Carol Louck; one son, Chase Louck; one brother, Bill Louck (wife: Vikki) of Galveston, Indiana; two sisters, Joretta Post (husband: Jerry) of St. Henry, Ohio, and Teresa Bowler (husband: Tom); and several nieces and nephews.
Rich was preceded in death by one brother, Ed Bousman.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. Burial will be held at a later date in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to A Better Life – Brianna’s Hope.
Arrangements have been entrusted to MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel.
