Obituary
Mary Jane Leona Buening, age 60, of Burkettsville, Ohio, died on Friday, Dec. 11, 2020, at her residence in rural Burkettsville, surrounded by her family. She was born Sept. 7, 1960, in Coldwater, Ohio to Waveline (Keller) Selhorst and the late Herbert Selhorst. Her mother survives in Coldwater.
On Feb. 7, 1981, in St. Henry Church, she married Daniel Buening, and he survives in Burkettsville. Mary Jane is also survived by two children, Jamie and Toby Daugherty of Fort Recovery and Brad and Andrea Buening of Coldwater. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Briggs, Bentley and Zeppelin, and siblings and in-laws Jim and Denise Selhorst of Celina, Ohio, Diane and Jeff Moots of Van Wert, Ohio, Judy and Levarn Koesters of Coldwater, Terry and Kathy Selhorst of Coldwater, Scott and Beth Selhorst of Dayton, Ohio, and Jeff and Janel Selhorst of Coldwater; her mother-in-law Betty Lou Buening of St. Henry; and in-laws Gary and Juanita Buening of Maria Stein, Ohio, and Joanie and Nick Muhlenkamp of Coldwater.
In addition to her father, Mary Jane was preceded in death by her father-in-law Lester Buening.
She was a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Burkettsville. Mary Jane was an entrepreneur at heart and loved vegetable and flower gardening. Her siblings say she always made the best desserts at the holidays. She enjoyed spending time with her family and absolutely lived for her grandchildren.
The family would like to receive friends but because of COVID-19 concerns viewing and the funeral Mass for Mary Jane will be private. Burial will follow in St. Bernard Cemetery.
