Pray, but also take precautions

To the editor:

I support and sympathize with Dreama Nichols admonishing to pray.

I would suggest that when you do so you ask God to compel everyone to wear a mask, to practice social distancing and to practice good hygiene (wash your hands).

Dreama uses language that was given a voice during the outbreak of AIDS/HIV. We learned through scientific research that the disease was caused by a virus that was shown to arise from monkeys, not any shortcoming in human behavior. The same is true with the COVID-19 virus.

Pray if you will, but also wear a mask, social distance and wash your hands.
