LIMA, Ohio — The Indians won the first race of the day. They were second in two other races.

Those efforts helped them take third overall as a team.

Fort Recovery High School’s girls swim team finished third Tuesday in the Lima Central Catholic Holiday Invitational at Lima YMCA.

Ottawa-Glandorf scored 359 points to win the team title, and Coldwater was the runner-up with 272 points. Fort Recovery was 20 points behind for third out of 23 teams.

The Tribe boys had a top-10 finish, scoring 59 points for ninth out of 23 teams. Wapakoneta scored 464 to win, while Shawnee (307) was second and Ottawa-Glandorf (289) took third.

Fort Recovery’s 200-yard medley relay team of Teigen Fortkamp, Audra Bubp, Autumn Burk and Paige Fortkamp posted the fastest time of 1 minute, 57.05 seconds, for the squad’s only victory of the day.

Ava Bubp, Burk and the Fortkamps were runners-up in the 200 freestyle relay, and Teigen Fortkamp took second in the 100 backstroke.

Shelby Stammen, Burk and the Bubps combined for a fourth-place finish in the 400 freestyle relay. Ava Bubp also placed fourth in the 200 individual medley.

Michael Braun had the FRHS boys’ only top-four finish. He was fourth in the 100 backstroke.
