Francis James Shaw, 82, of Winchester, passed away on Monday, Dec. 28, 2020.
He was born on Sept. 23, 1938, in Carthage, Indiana, to Otis and Dorothy (Duncan) Shaw.
Francis was a 1956 graduate of Greensfork High School. On Sept. 1, 1962, he married Shirley Kay Stuckey. From 1962 to 1964, he served in the United States Army where he was stationed in Regensburg, Germany. He worked for Perfect Circle-Dana Corp in Richmond, Indiana, for 38½ years, retiring in 1995.
Francis enjoyed flying model airplanes, bowling in his younger years, watching and attending NASCAR races cheering on his favorite Jeff Gordon. He had a strong love for airplanes and flying, taking flying lessons and flying small planes.
Francis is survived by his wife, Shirley Kay Shaw; two daughters, Amy Leann Shaw of Winchester and Annette Renee Alexander (Jarrod) of Portland; and several brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Francis was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Paul Shaw; and his sister and brother-in-law, Annabelle and Tom LaBoyteaux.
There will be private family services for Francis at 2 p.m., on Jan. 2, 2021, at Walker Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Hinshaw officiating. Burial with military services will follow at Spartanburg Cemetery.
The family would like to thank for their excellent care and compassion, State of the Heart Hospice, Help at Home and Ascension St. Vincent Randolph Hospital, as well as Dr. Alison Syme.
