Everett Dee Ruhl, 44, of Albany, Kentucky, formerly of Redkey, Indiana, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, while in the company of family members at Vanderbilt Hospital, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Dee was born in Portland, Indiana, on Oct. 15, 1976, a son of the late Glenda G. (Miller) and Robert E. Ruhl. He attended Jay County High School and was a member of the Fort Wayne Laborers Union.
Dee was a very social man who loved the comforts of home and enjoyed football, choir, watching wrestling, playing cards, listening to music, playing the guitar and drums, the Indianapolis Colts and spending time with family, friends and most importantly (the true loves of his life) his precious daughter and granddaughter.
Dee is survived by his daughter Chevelle Lynn Ruhl (Chaz Tiller); two brothers, Michael Cordell Ruhl and Vernon Piercey (wife: Tammy); two sisters, Kamala K. Waters (husband: Rick) and Renee Decoff; two grandchildren, Arianna Rose (Rosie) Allen and one on the way; special friends Amanda Oliver and Joshua E. Johnson Jr. (age 11); and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles L. Piercey.
Friends are invited to call Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020, from noon to 1 p.m. at MJS Mortuaries – Redkey Chapel. Graveside services will follow at 1:30 p.m. in Hillcrest Cemetery in Redkey, Indiana, with Pastor Randy Davis officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to MJS Mortuaries (Everett Dee Ruhl funeral expenses).
