Tyson Foods has announced a donation of 87,500 pounds or 350,000 meals to U.S. Army soldiers and their families stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina.
Soldiers from Fort Bragg were recently deployed overseas, and the protein donation is an effort by the company to recognize the sacrifice by service members and their families.
Tyson Foods is the parent of Tyson Mexican Original of Portland.
Since 2015, the company has donated more than 50 million pounds of protein to food banks, community pantries and disaster relief efforts.
Not on board
CVS Health is trimming its board of directors, and the former chief executive officer of Aetna did not make the cut.
Mark Bertolini, joined the CVS board after CVS acquired the insurance company for $70 billion in 2018.
According to The Wall Street Journal, he’s being pushed off the board despite being willing to stay.
Bertolini told the Journal that integration between CVS and Aetna isn't nearly complete, but CVS disagrees. In a press release the company said “the bulk of the integration” is done and it’s time for Bertolini to move on.
In addition to Bertolini, CVS is cutting two other seats as it reduces its board from 16 to 13.
