Free soup fest set for Wednesday in Bryant
Taking Note
The Bryant and New Corydon Senior Citizens Club will host its annual free soup fest Wednesday.
The event is set for 11:30 a.m. at Bryant Community Center.
All seniors are invited whether they are members or not.
Soup and beverages will be provided. Carry-in snacks will be appreciated but are not required.
The musical program will be provided by the Royer family, which will have its latest CD available for purchase.
Good total
Fort Recovery Combined Charities raised a total of $19,641 in its 2019 campaign. That’s an increase of $1,052 over 2018.
Among the organizations receiving support from Combined Charities are the Fort Recovery Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Academic Boosters, Historical Society, Ministerial Association and Friends of the Library. The drive also supports Project Recovery, Mercer County Right to Life, State of the Heart Home Health and Hospice, the Cancer Association of Mercer County and the Center for Neurological Development.
Officers
Jay County Historical Society recently elected officers for 2020. Rob Weaver and Phil Rager will continue as co-presidents. Kay Locker and Claudia Jones are co-vice presidents, Jane Spencer is secretary and Judy Zearbaugh treasurer.
Jane Spencer was re-appointed as Jay County Historian, and Janice Stucky was named Jay County Genealogist.
