Marjorie S. Stanton, 76, of Montpelier, Indiana, went to be home with her Lord at 11:33 p.m. on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.
She was born on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1943, in Montpelier, Indiana. She married the Rev. Billy E. Stanton on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1963, at the Union Chapel Church in Montpelier. Marjorie was a 1961 graduate of Montpelier High School. She was a member of Collett Church of the Nazarene, where she and her husband Billy pastored for 40 years. Mrs. Stanton was part owner and operator of Stanton’s Service. Marjorie enjoyed cooking, cake decorating, crocheting and doing chalk art.
She will be sadly missed by her husband Rev. Billy E. Stanton, Montpelier, Indiana; son Jason E. Stanton, Berne, Indiana; brothers Allen Leroy (Jo) Ellison, Montpelier, Indiana, Larry Dee (Connie) Ellison, Montpelier, Indiana, and Max Edwin Ellison; sister Carolyn Ann (Terry) Abney, Montpelier, Indiana; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father Lester F. Ellison; mother Pauline (Nestleroad) Ellison; and sister Barbara Elaine Dulworth.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home, 109 W. Windsor St., Montpelier, on Saturday, Feb. 15, 2020, from 2 to 8 p.m. and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Collett Church of the Nazarene, 4525 S. 100 West, Portland, on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020.
A service to celebrate her life will be at Collett Church of the Nazarene, 4525 S. 100 West, Portland, at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 16, 2020, with the Pastor Mike Konkle, Dr. David Roland, Pastor Clint Abney and Pastor Bob Bothast officiating. Interment will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Montpelier.
Preferred memorials may be made to Collett Church of the Nazarene, 4525 S. 100 West, Portland, IN 47371.
