Bailey McIntire solidified himself as the best Starfire runner while at South Adams.

McIntire, a 2018 South Adams High School graduate, recorded the ninth-fastest time in the 5,000-meter run for the Purdue University men’s track team during competition at the Music City Challenge in Nashville.
The redshirt sophomore posted a time of 14 minutes, 20.92 seconds, good for the ninth-fastest time in program history. He improved his career-best time by more than nine seconds in the meet hosted by Vanderbilt.

Won two titles and earned a pair of national A standards for the Bethel College women’s swim team as it competed in the Midwest Championships on Friday and Saturday in Davenport, Iowa.
Kunkler’s first championship came in the 100-yard breaststroke with her time of 1 minute, 6.41 seconds. Her second was the 200 breaststroke as she hit the wall in 2:30.58. Both times were NAIA national A standards.
Bethel scored 226 to place third out of four teams. St. Ambrose won with 1,016 points.

Was second in scoring for the Anderson University women’s basketball team Wednesday in a 55-39 victory over Manchester.
Ault was 5-of-9 from the field, including making one of her two 3-point attempts, and was 2-for-2 from the free-throw line to finish with 13 points.
She also had nine rebounds, which was second on the team, dished an assist and had one steal in 29 minutes.
The sophomore totaled three points, three rebounds before fouling out in a 57-52 loss to Franklin on Saturday.

Finished sixth for the Manchester University wrestling team in the Mid-States Invitational on Saturday.
Leonhard received a bye to the second round before falling to Bryant Moore of Adrian in the quarterfinal.
In the consolation bracket, Leonhard won by 9-2 decision before receiving two medical forfeits.
Leonhard lost in the consolation semifinal with a pin, and then fell by pin in the fifth-place match as well.
On Feb. 13, Leonhard fell to Nick Miller of Trine by an 8-4 decision as the Spartans beat the Thunder in a dual, 27-23.

Competed for the University of Saint Francis women’s track team in the Crossroads League Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday at Indiana Wesleyan University.
The freshman took 15th in the 1-mile run with her time of 6 minutes, 1.04 seconds.
Huntington’s Apsen Dirr set a conference record in winning the race in 4:59.13.

Made his collegiate debut for the University of Cincinnati baseball team Sunday in an 11-7 loss to Kennesaw State.
Geesaman entered as a relief pitcher with one runner on base in the bottom of the eighth inning.
He faced one batter and induced an inning-ending grounder to third base on four pitches for the Bearcats (0-3).
