Obituary
Hal David Ballard, age 66, a resident of rural Portland, passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at his home.
He had worked at Jay Products in Portland and was currently employed as an electrician at ALMCO Steel in Bluffton.
Hal Ballard was born May 21, 1953, in Union City, Indiana, the son of Kenneth and Ruth Evelyn (Hess) Ballard.
He was married in 1989 to Pam Henry.
Survivors include:
His wife — Pam Ballard, Greenville, Ohio
Three brothers — Darrell Ballard (wife: Wanda), Parrish, Florida, Max Ballard, Portland, Indiana, and Gregory Ballard (wife: Sheryl), Salamonia, Indiana
Three sisters — Joy Ballard, Portland, Indiana, Penny Ashcraft (husband: Garth), Dubois, Idaho, and Cindy Slagley (husband: Jim), Ridgeville, Indiana
Step-daughter — Marla Miller (husband: Jeff), Greenville, Ohio
Step-son — Shane Denney (Pat Reynard), Portland
Four grandchildren — Jordan and Hunter Miller, Deon and Michael Denney
Two great-granddaughters — Rylie Miller and Luna Denney
Several nieces and nephews
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 4 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastor James Henry officiating.
Memorials may be directed to the Jay County Heart Fund.
