Twenty-five years ago this week, visitors to the Vintage Motor Bike Club meet at Jay County Fairgrounds were already in the county several days ahead of the event’s opening date.
The July 11, 1995, edition of The Commercial Review detailed the event, which included contests, a swap meet, flea market and the club’s annual banquet.
A fun run was also scheduled with a visit to Portland’s Studebaker museum. Other events that were part of the show included a poker run, games for bike and scooter riders, a Friday night moonlight ride, and a music and talent show.
An auction was on the schedule for the final day of the meet.
Formed in 1972, the club draws thousands of visitors from all over the United States and beyond to its annual event.
The 48th annual edition of the show was scheduled for July 29 through Aug. 2 at the fairgrounds but was canceled because of the coronavirus pandemic.
