Portland Water Park opened Saturday for the first time this year. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, the water park is limited to 50% capacity — 258 visitors — and was near that limit Saturday afternoon. Other park facilities, such as restrooms and playgrounds, also officially opened Saturday.
Portland Park Board did not meet Tuesday because of a scheduling conflict at Portland City Council’s chambers, where it usually meets at 7 p.m. on the first Tuesday of every month. Board president Shauna Runkle said the meeting will not be rescheduled.
