There won’t be a 4-H livestock auction at the Jay County Fair this year because of the coronavirus pandemic.
But the leadership of 4-H wants to make sure that the kids aren’t penalized by COVID-19.
Past bidders in the Buyers’ Club for the auction are being asked to make a donation for a fund the replace the auction premiums.
More than 200 young people participate in Jay County 4-H. The donations will be split evenly among the eligible livestock exhibitors.
Donations should be sent to Jay County 4-H, C/O 2020 Auction, 126 N. Meridian St., Portland, Indiana 47371.
If you have questions, contact auction chair Brandyn Towell at (260) 729-1769.
Donations should be made by 4:30 p.m. on July 17 to be included in the fund.
