A blood drive in memory of a Portland woman is scheduled for July 21.
The drive is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 21 at Jay Community Center. It is being held in memory of Rachel (Osterholt) Theurer, who died following childbirth on Nov. 11, 2015.
Theurer suffered an amniotic fluid embolism, which affects only one in 40,000 women during childbirth.

IG picnic
The 65th anniversary Indiana Glass Picnic will be held Sunday at Frank W. Merry Park, 18505 N. 500 East, Dunkirk. Past employees of Indiana Glass Co. will be honored.
The event, which is open to the public, begins at 7 a.m. There will be a trophy competition shoot at 7:30 a.m., a fishing contest at 8 a.m. and a disc golf tournament at 9 a.m.
Retirees of Indiana Glass will be honored at noon.
A cornhole tournament is set for 2 p.m., and the Steal Justice Band will perform at the same time.
At 5 p.m. it will be time for Steve Norman’s karaoke.

Jay County Library wants to remind patrons that things are getting back to normal in spite of the coronavirus pandemic.
Curbside service is still available by calling (260) 726-7890.
Meanwhile the library is open to the public from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. It’s open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays and from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturdays.
