Flags will be presented Saturday to the parents of a Dunkirk woman who died earlier this year in a traffic accident.
Flags 4 Fallen will carry the two flags during the Sculpt Fitness 5K beginning at 8 a.m. Saturday in the east 100 block of Commerce Street in Dunkirk.
At the conclusion of the race, the flags will be presented to the parents of Sophie Robbins. She died Jan. 19 in an accident in Anderson.
Flags 4 Fallen is a volunteer group that carries flags during races “in memory of Americans who passed away too soon.”
Tryouts set
Jay County junior high cheerleading tryouts are scheduled for 2:15 to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday, 2:15 to 4 p.m. July 28 and a yet-to-be-determined time July 30 in the small gym at East Jay Elementary School.
Tryouts are open to seventh and eighth graders, and anyone who participates must have physical and assumption of risk forms on file with the Jay County Junior/Senior High School athletics office. Forms are available at jaycountyathletics.com.
For those who make the squad, the first practice will be at 2:15 p.m. July 31.

Evangelical Methodist Church will host a Friday Fun Night from 7 to 8:30 p.m. tonight.
