Arthur Huelskamp

March 30, 1932-July 17, 2020

Arthur R. “Art” Huelskamp, age 88, of Fort Recovery, passed away on July 17, 2020, at Briarwood Village, Coldwater.

He was born March 30, 1932, in Fort Recovery, to the late Aloys and Rose (Harlett) Huelskamp. On Nov. 17, 1956, he married Janice E. Huelskamp, who passed away Sept. 26, 2016.

Surviving are his children, Jeff Huelskamp of Fort Recovery, Cindy (Jim) Judy of Frisco, Texas, and Dawn Jutte of Fort Recovery; a sister, Mildred Will of Fort Recovery; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and in-laws, Barb Byrum of Piqua, Ohio, Ruth Wooddell of South Carolina and Ann Wooddell of Virginia.

Preceding him in death were infant daughter, Beth Ann Huelskamp; grandson, Michael Huelskamp; siblings, Alfred (Luella) Huelskamp, Ernest (Eileen) Huelskamp, Margaret Huelskamp, Sr. Alma Huelskamp, Theresa (Sylvan) Brockman, Sr. Luella Huelskamp and Eugene (Mildred) Huelskamp; brother-in-law, Luke Will; and in-laws, Kenny Byrum, Newell Wooddell, Mae (Elmer) Barhorst, Bertie (George) Groff, John Wooddell and Michael Byrum.

He was a 1950 graduate of Fort Recovery High School and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War.

Art retired as a small engine and large appliance specialist at Hull Brothers and was a former manager for the Broadway Mobile Court, both of Fort Recovery.

He was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery. Art was also a member of the American Legion Post 345 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, both of Fort Recovery.

Art was a collector of all. He loved to collect Fort Recovery history and yard sticks, to name a few. He also loved to listen to music and adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2020, at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Fort Recovery, with Fr. Christian Cone-Lombarte as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Marys Cemetery. Graveside military honors will be conducted by the American Legion.

Calling is 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday and 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at Brockman – Boeckman Funeral Home, Fort Recovery.
