Robert D. Hambrock, age 70, of Portland passed away Sunday, July 19, 2020, at his residence following an extended illness.
Born in Portland on Sept. 29, 1949, he was the son of Charles and Arlene (Bost) Hambrock. He was married on Aug. 30, 1974, to Barbara McKee who survives. Robert was retired from the Portland Street Department after 38 years.
He attended the First Church of the Nazarene in Portland and was a 1967 Redkey High School graduate.
Surviving are his wife Barbara; two sons, Brett Hambrock of Portland and Brock Hambrock (wife: Chastity) of Portland; two brothers, Jim Hambrock of Portland and Rick Hambrock (wife: Carrie) of Portland; one sister, Cathy Garringer of Portland; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Sue Garinger; and a brother Tom Hambrock.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 22, 2020, at 2 p.m. in the Baird-Freeman Funeral Home with Pastors Eric Hambrock and Steve Hundley presiding. Burial will follow in the Bluff Point Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from noon to 2 p.m.
Memorials can be made to the Jay County Cancer Society or Visiting Nurses and Hospice Home.
