Marjorie Frazier
Obituary
Marjorie Jane Frazier, age 77, of Kissimmee, Florida, and formerly of Rushville, Indiana, and Portland, Indiana, passed away Tuesday, July 14, after an extended illness.
She was born one of four children on Jan. 10, 1943, in Celina, Ohio, to Lester “Happy Jack” Bricker and Myrtle Knittle Bricker. She was a Portland High School graduate.
In her early years, she served as a Sunday School teacher and babysitter, and cleaned houses for many, many families. She had a lot of children that loved her and called her “Mom.” She was later a waitress at the Brown Derby in Indianapolis and a store manager for Potatoes, Etc.
In 1986, Margie moved to Kissimmee, Florida, where she began working for Walt Disney World. Nineteen years later, Mickey and Minnie allowed her to retire.
Margie had two wonderful sons, whom she adored. Left to cherish her memory are those sons, Robert Steed of Shirley, Indiana, and Fred Steed (wife: Pam) of Milroy, Indiana; one brother, Fred Bricker (wife: Patricia) of Portland, Indiana. She had one grandson, Jonathon Steed of Milroy, Indiana; and two step-granddaughters, Tiffany Alford (husband: Jeff) of Ladoga, Indiana, and Kandace McKenna of New Ross, Indiana, who will miss her very much. She also leaves behind nine step-grandchildren.
Those meeting her at heaven’s gate are her parents, Lester and Myrtle; two sisters, Jackie Petschke and Judy Weagant; and great niece, Chasity Weagant. I’m sure there will be many others who will be there to rejoice her arrival and welcome her with open arms.
Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, at Baird-Freeman Funeral Home in Portland, Indiana, with Pastor Darryl Cooper of Rushville presiding. Friends and family may call from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Marjorie wished to be cremated, so burial at Salamonia Cemetery will be at a later date.
Memorials can be made to Operation Smile, The American Lung Association or the church of your choice.
