Redkey Town Hall is now open to the public, by appointment only.

Mirror clipped
Pennville and Fort Recovery women clipped each other’s vehicles while driving in opposite directions on county road 200 North near county road 300 North at 8:15 p.m. Sunday.
Amanda N. Sutter, 40, Fort Recovery, and Abigail L. Huey, 17, Pennville, both told the Jay County Sheriff’s Office that the road was narrow, which contributed to the accident. The vehicles made contact near the vehicles’ driver side mirrors, which resulted in an estimated $1,000 to $2,500 in damage.
Sutter was driving her 2014 Ford Fusion and Huey was driving a 2015 Ford Edge registered to Karen I. Huey, Pennville.
Deer hit
An Ohio man was unable to avoid driving into a deer while westbound on Indiana 67 just before its intersection with Indiana 26 at 7:50 a.m. Sunday.
Thomas P. Jones, 74, Venedocia, Ohio, was driving a 2016 Chevy Equinox that hit the deer. Damage was estimated between $2,500 and $5,000.
Votaw mishap
Between $2,500 and $5,000 in damage was reported in a two-vehicle accident about 12:45 p.m. Friday on Votaw Street in Portland.
Christine Hough, 23, Redkey, told Portland police she was leaving the Walgreens parking lot and turning east onto Votaw Street. She said she did not see a car driven by Rhonda J. Gard, 81, Union City, that had turned onto Votaw from Commerce Street shortly before, and the vehicles collided.
Backing accident
Damage between $1,000 and $2,500 was reported in a backing accident in the Walmart parking lot, 950 W. Votaw St., Portland, about 11:50 a.m. Thursday.
Elaine Smith, 60, Portland, backed her 2015 Dodge Journey into a parked 2008 Chevrolet Uplander driven by Quanda A. Hayden, 69, rural Bryant.
